Bowie Community Media Corporation is dedicated to enhancing public access television programming on Bowie Channel 77 by extending to all citizens of the community and its surrounding neighbors the opportunity to share their creativity and knowledge by becoming either members, producers or corporate sponsors. It is BCMC's intention to schedule programming which is diverse, appropriate, entertaining, informative, educational and creative. We seek to accomplish all of the aforementioned while honoring the First Amendment's protection of free speech. We pledge our commitment with the motto: "Your channel. Your voice."

The Bowie Community Media Corporation (BCMC) was established in 2003 as a non-profit organization. The first board of directors was appointed by the incorporators who filed the Articles of Incorporation with the State of Maryland and the tax-exempt application with the IRS. The corporation is governed by the board of directors, representing the membership of the organization. Each board member contributes to the operation of the cable channel in unique ways. The operations activities include updating the video bulletin board that displays member and programming announcements on Bowie Channel 77, scheduling the time slots of programs using a computerized scheduling database, encouraging the participation of corporate sponsors of the Bowie 77, promoting the channel through various media, and initiating fundraising efforts, events, and receptions.

The Board is looking for creative people to produce quality shows. If you have an idea for a local news, entertainment, reality show, documentary, public affairs, children's, or call-in/audience participation program, we want to hear from you! You can become a member of Bowie Community Media Corporation to produce your first show. Whether you produce your show independently, on-location, or in the City of Bowie Cable Studio, we look forward to offering programming by Bowie, for Bowie. Any decision regarding the scheduling of any program on channel 77 is within the sole discretion of BCMC. As a legal corporate entity, BCMC has the same rights that are guaranteed to individuals under the First Amendment. BCMC therefore reserves the right not to engage in speech which violates or infringes upon the rights of others; or is unlawful, threatening, abusive, invasive of public or private rights, vulgar, obscene or otherwise objectionable; or which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or violate any law.
